Where Do We Go From Here? The Future of the Performing Arts

This question, or some version of it, comes up whenever presenters agents and other industry professionals gather. What will our programming become as the boomers age out and the nostalgia and tribute bands we all rely on lose their appeal, or stop touring? Will AI benefit or hurt us? How will the new BMI terms impact our bottom lines? We’ll take out our crystal balls and discuss these topics and more! Join us for networking, professional development and relaxation is a beautiful mountain setting.

LEARNING, SESSIONS, and ACTIVITIES

The retreat agenda will feature a variety of sessions including what's next in programming, best industry practices, current trends, and infinity group breakouts. Of course there will be plenty of opportunities to network, catch up with old friends and make new ones. Monday night will feature a cocktail hour and scrumptious dinner buffet followed by a campfire and informal gatherings. Tuesday will feature more of the same topped off with a delicious lunch buffet and a tour of the adjacent Shawnee Playhouse.

AGENT ALLEY

Get to know ConsERT's agnate & artist members! Monday afternoon will feature Agent Alley, an opportunity for booking personnel to interact one-on-one with our agent and artist members. This session proved very popular at last year's retreat with presenters and agents alike. See what our agents have to offer, and perhaps fill in a hole or two in your upcoming season.

PRE-RETREAT (Aug 4)

Join your ConsERT friends and make new ones before the formal activities begin! We'll have plenty of laughs as we catch up or get to know one another. You'll be relaxed and ready for the retreat! We'll gather at one of the restaurants and then enjoy the onsite brewery, activities or just hang on the front porch. Of course you just relax, enjoy the grounds, activities, swimming pool or fitness center. The pre-retreat has become a favorite for many attendees.

The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is located on a sprawling property along the Delaware River. A plethora of activities are available including kayaking, archery, axe throwing and (of course) golf. An indoor pool awaits for swimming and exercise, while the onsite restaurants and brewery will excite the foodies amongst us. The enormous front porch with rockers will be a favorite site for attendees to gather to watch the river with their favorite beverage .

GETTING THERE

Free Coach Bus photo and picture For those members without a vehicle, Martz Bus operates a bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Stroudsburg/ Delaware Water Gap, PA hourly. Tickets cost $35–50 and the journey takes 1h 20m. Those looking to car pool can post a message on the ConsERT list serv.

REGISTRATION

Register today! Early Bird Savings available until June 30th. The $350 ($300 early bird) covers all meals, sessions and an open bar cocktail hour. Pre-retreat meal is not included.

Discounted accommodations are available for $167 per night and may be booked by clicking here, or calling 800-742-9633 and asking for the Consortium of Eastern Regional Theatre's rate. Rooms must be booked by July 3rd to take advantage of this rate.
